How to Build/Install Subversion on Shared Hosting

I just switched to shared hosting on A2 Hosting recently and wanted to use the latest version of Subversion via SSH command-line. Since compiler access was available, it was just a matter of getting the dependencies and compiling steps right and voila, svn 1.9.5 was available in the command-line.
